Oxford Journals Law Collection

Young Law Library recently subscribed to the Law Collection of Oxford University Press's online Oxford Journals. The journals are accessible from law school computers at http://oxfordjournals.org/subject/law/ (they are not accessible from laptops because they do not have law school IP addresses). Individual titles are accessible through Infolinks, the U of A libraries' catalog. There are 28 journals in the law collection, on topics including economics, intellectual property, criminal law, international law, and human rights. Coverage varies by journal. Some journals have volumes going back to the 1980s and earlier, while some journals' volumes are only available from this decade. To access individual articles, click on the journal title from the list on the above hyperlinked page. Click on a link for the current issue, advance access (articles for future issues that have been edited but not paginated) or browse the archive. You can also search (basic searching is available on journal's main page, or click on Advanced Search to search for a specific author, article title, etc.). Once you get to a list of articles, there should be links to open the abstract or full-text PDF of the articles.

The Making of Modern Law contains more than 20,000 American and British legal treatises originally published between 1800 and 1926. To access, do a title search in Infolinks for either Making of Modern Law or the title of a specific work. In a title record, click on the hyperlink Full text available to Young Law Library Patrons only. If you searched for Making of Modern Law, you can access the database from any of the 10,000 records in the Infolinks search.
